Egypt-IBM Nanotechnology Research Center
The Egypt-IBM Nanotechnology Research Center is the joint result of a three-year partnership agreement between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency ( ITIDA ), representing the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Science and Technological Development Fund, representing the Ministry of Higher Education, and IBM Corporation.Egyptian and IBM expert scientists and engineers work side-by-side on advanced nanoscience and nanotechnology projects coordinated with the efforts of IBM Research labs in Zurich, Switzerland; Almaden, California; and Yorktown Heights, New York.

The Information Technology Industry Development Agency ( ITIDA ) The Information Technology Industry Development Agency ( ITIDA ) is a governmental entity affiliated to Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. It is responsible for growing and developing Egypt’s position as a leading global outsourcing location by attracting foreign direct investment to the industry and maximizing the exports of IT services and applications. Research partners in the center include the graduate institution Nile University, Giza’s Cairo University and IBM Egypt.
Science and Technological Development Fund ( STDF ) In 2006, the Egyptian State Ministry for Scientific Research has embarked on an ambitious exercise to overhaul Science and Technology (S&T) activities in Egypt. In the course of the year 2007, the outputs of that exercise were a complete restructuring of the S&T governance and management model in Egypt, in addition to the creation of the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), and the Science and Technological Development Fund ( STDF ).
